The residents of Whitney have had the ability to use the Itasca Landfill every quarter. This information was in your bill, but many didn't know about it. It was also limited to 4 times a year on the first Saturday, Mar, June, Sept, and Dec. A few weeks ago, we reached Republic and asked for access that was easier to use. And we got what we needed!🥳
Residents of Whitney can now go to the Itasca Dump the First Saturday of every month for free but you are limited to 4 times a year per the contract we have with Republic. . To monitor this, city hall will give you a "PASS" good for the next 1st Saturday.
WHO CAN GET A PASS?
You must live inside Whitney's city limits. You are eligible if you pay for trash service to the City Whitney through your water bill.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING TO CITY HALL?
-If your name is on the water bill, you only need a valid picture ID like a driver's license.
-If you live at the residence but your name is not on the bill, bring a paper copy of the bill and your ID.
Notice: You must have a Picture ID with the same address as your Whitney Water Bill to be admitted to the Itasca Landfill along with your Pass. Please read the flyer to become familiar with all the Itasca Landfill Rules.
We finalized this today, so pardon the short notice for June 1st. That was one of the free days to start with, so you might have already planned on this one.

Republic Services will be collecting Bulk Trash the last Wednesday of each month. Please call (254)221-4416 to be placed on the Bulk Pick Up list. If you do not call to be placed on the list and tell Dawn at the number above what exactly you have to be picked up, your trash will not be collected.
