Landfill Pass for City of Whitney Residents

The city has available landfill passes for single-family residents to use at the Itasca Landfill in Itasca. The intent of the Landfill Pass Program is to provide single-family residents with more opportunities to dispose of unwanted materials. Please use the Landfill Pass Program to help keep the City of WHITNEY clean throughout the year.

However, to avoid potential abuse of the program, we ask that each resident follow the criteria below when obtaining or using the landfill passes:

  1. Landfill passes are for residential use only by the City of Whitney. Commercial or Industrial entities are not included in the Landfill Pass Program.
  2. Residents must sign for each landfill pass. Each address is allotted four passes per calendar year.
  3. The landfill pass will expire 30 days from the date
  4. You must have an active water account to receive a Landfill Pass from City Hall. When you present your Landfill Pass at the Landfill, the name on the Landfill Pass and the Photo ID must be the same.
  5. A hard hat and safety vest are required. Residents can bring their own vests and hard hats or purchase them at the landfill for $12.00 each.
  6. The maximum load for each pass is limited to four (4) cubic
  7. The passes are only good for posted materials taken for disposal at the Landfill. Unaccepted materials are listed below.
  8. Landfill passes must be used within the contract year of February to
  9. Landfill passes cannot be sold, traded, or otherwise used fraudulently by any resident or non-resident of Whitney.
  10. The Landfill returns all used landfill passes to the City of Whitney at the end of each.
  11. Lost landfill passes will not be re-issued until it is verified that they have not been used at the Landfill, which could take up to 3 months.

The passes will be distributed by the City Hall Lobby Receptionist.

Landfill Hours of Operation

  • Whitney residents have access on the first Saturday of each month, not to exceed four times a year.
  • The landfill is open Saturday from 7:00 am – 12:00 pm.

 

Unacceptable Items

  • Regulated Hazardous Waste
  • Class I Industrial Waste
  • Whole Used or Scrap Tires
  • PCB Material
  • Used Oil Filters
  • Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Used Motor Oil
  • Radioactive materials
  • Grease trap waste
  • Lead Acid Storage Battery
  • Liquid Waste (that does not pass the paint filter test)
  • Regulated Asbestos Containing Material (RACM)
  • Refrigerators, Freezers, air conditioners, and any other items containing Chlorinated Fluorocarbon (CFC)
